you’re guide to healing like a hot girl

moxi aftercare

What's normal, what's not, and how to care for your skin at every stage.

What to Expect

MOXI is a non-ablative resurfacing treatment, meaning the skin remains intact while it renews from within.

  • One MOXI treatment can improve tone and texture, but results are cumulative. The greatest improvements in pigmentation, fine lines and overall skin quality are generally seen with a course of treatments planned by your therapist

  • Most people will need a series of treatments [typically 3-4] to get the desired result when treating a specific skin condition or concern.

  • Maintenance sessions are recommended at least once a year to ensure overall skin health and rejuvenation.

  • You'll start to see fresher, more even-toned skin emerge as MENDS shed, generally within 5 - 10 days on the face and up to 14 days on the body

We like to remind everyone that the treatments we perform at Tuesday are advanced skin treatments - they deserve the same respect, patience and care in the healing process as they do in the treatment room.

MENDS (Microscopic Epidermal Necrotic Debris) are tiny fragments of treated skin that often look like small dark speckles and feel rough or gritty. They are a completely expected part of how MOXI resurfaces skin (think old skin cells being pushed to the surface)

What are Mends?

immediately after

The day of your treatment

What’s Normal?

  • Skin may feel warm, tight and look flushed, similar to mild sunburn. This is often most noticeable in the first few hours and is completely normal.

at-home skincare

  • A clean, cool compress can help if you're uncomfortable. SIMKA cooling masks [kept in the fridge] give a moist, cooling barrier for comfort.

  • Apply dermaviduals Oleogel to dry areas or MENDS as needed.

skin sin’s

  1. Try not to touch or rub your face on the way home.

the first 72 hours

the first 3 days post-treatment

What’s Normal?

  • Redness and warmth, similar to sunburn. Most settle within 2-3 days.

  • Mild to moderate swelling, especially if treated around the eyes.

  • From around 24 hours, tiny dark speckles begin to appear.

at-home skincare

  • In the AM & PM use a gentle, non-active cleanser [dermaviduals Cleansing Milk] + lukewarm water and finish with a barrier-support moisturiser [dermaviduals Oleogel or High Classic] to keep skin comfortable.

  • Apply SIMKA SPF 50+ even on cloudy days. Re-application is key for all day protection.

skin sin’s

  1. Disturbing MENDS early [touching, picking, scrubbing] as it can cause scarring or patchy healing.

  2. Makeup - freshly treated skin is more porous and prone to irritation; wait until MENDS have shed and skin feels settled.

  3. Hot showers, saunas, strenuous exercise - added heat and sweat can increase redness and irritate healing skin.

  4. Direct sun exposure - skin is significantly more vulnerable to pigment changes while healing.

  5. Products with actives such as Retinol, vitamin A and C, AHAs, BHAs, exfoliants and scrubs these can strip healing skin and disrupt natural shedding.

  6. Drinking alcohol.

the next 1-2 weeks

What’s Normal?

  • MENDS darken, feel rough or gritty [like fine sandpaper], then flake away naturally - usually 5 - 10 days on the face, up to 14 days on the body.

  • Pigmented spots may look temporarily darker before they flake off - this is pigment being drawn to the surface, not a complication.

  • Skin may feel dry or tight as it sheds - normal, and settles once MENDS have cleared.

at-home skincare

Once MENDS have fully shed and skin feels settled:

  • Gradually reintroduce your normal skincare routine.

  • Actives [retinol, vitamin A and C, AHAs, BHAs and exfoliants] on the treated area - usually until all flaking has stopped.

  • Keep up daily SPF - this protects your results and prevents new sun damage.

skin sin’s

  1. Dermaplaning, waxing or hair removal on the treated area - the barrier is still repairing and these can cause irritation or damage.

  2. Picking at MENDS if they feel itchy or annoying - resist the urge; pack on hydration [ermaviduals Oleogel] and let them shed in their own time.
