you’re guide to healing like a hot girl
bbl aftercare
What's normal, what's not, and how to care for your skin at every stage.
What to Expect
BBL is a light-based treatment used to target pigmentation, redness and uneven skin tone. You can usually return to normal daily activities straight away, but visible redness, warmth, swelling, darkening pigment and mild flaking may occur while the skin responds and heals.
Redness and swelling is normal and can last from 2-3 days up to a week, everyone’s skin is different and some may not experience swelling at all
Pigmented spots may initially become darker and more noticeable before gradually flaking away, generally within 7 to 14 days. As this process completes, the skin should begin to look clearer and more even-toned.
Redness and vascular improvements are more gradual and build with a course of treatments - most clients see their best results after 2 - 3 sessions, spaced according to your therapist's plan
We like to remind everyone that the treatments we perform at Tuesday are advanced skin treatments - they deserve the same respect, patience and care in the healing process as they do in the treatment room.

The day of your treatment
What’s Normal?
Expect warmth and redness for the first few hours, similar to mild sunburn, but most clients head straight back to normal activities.
Pigmented spots often look more obvious immediately after treatment - this is expected, not a concern.
at-home skincare
A clean, cool compress can help if you're uncomfortable. SIMKA cooling masks [kept in the fridge] give a moist, cooling barrier for comfort.
Apply dermaviduals Oleogel to dry areas as needed.

Alcohol
Makeup while the skin is warm, irritated or sensitive. Wait until the skin feels settled and intact before applying makeup using clean hands, brushes or sponges.
Direct sun exposure - treated skin is highly UV-reactive right now and can develop new pigment issues.
the first 72 hours
the first 3 days post-treatment
What’s Normal?
Redness, warmth and mild swelling - usually settles within a few days, occasionally up to a week.
Pigmentation may temporarily look more noticeable [“pepper spotting”] before it improves. This is treated pigment moving toward the surface, not the pigmentation becoming worse.
If treated for redness, rosacea or broken capillaries, mild flushing sensitivity for a few days.
at-home skincare
In the AM & PM use a gentle, non-active cleanser [dermaviduals Cleansing Milk] + lukewarm water and finish with a barrier-support moisturiser [dermaviduals High Classic] to keep skin comfortable.
Apply SIMKA SPF 50+ even on cloudy days. Re-application is key for all day protection.
Apply dermaviduals Oleogel to dry areas as needed.
avoid
Anything that causes flushing of the skin for at least 72 hours - strenuous exercise, saunas, hot baths/showers, excessive heat - flushing increases blood flow to already-irritated vessels and can undermine your results, especially if you were treated for redness or rosacea.
Products with actives such as Retinol, vitamin A and C, AHAs, BHAs, exfoliants and scrubs these can strip healing skin and disrupt natural shedding.
Picking, scratching or scrubbing darkened pigment spots. They need to flake away naturally, and disturbing them too early may cause irritation, scarring or uneven pigmentation.
the next 1-2 weeks
What’s Normal?
Pigmented spots may become darker and feel rough or slightly gritty before flaking away naturally over 7 - 14 days.
Redness and visible vessels may improve more gradually and may require multiple treatments.
Skin tone should begin to look clearer.
at-home skincare
Gradually reintroduce your normal skincare routine including actives.
Keep up daily SPF - this protects your results and prevents new sun damage.
avoid
Dermaplaning, waxing or hair removal on the treated area - the barrier is still repairing and these can cause irritation or damage.
Picking, rubbing or exfoliating darkened pigment spots. Let them flake away in their own time.
Direct sun exposure. Continue applying SIMKA SPF 50+ daily and wear a wide-brim hat when outdoors.
